Morning all,
I am a bit confused. I have a COUNTIF formula in the attached spreadsheet, that works perfectly for one word, and not at all for another word. I have included a forumla in the spreadsheet using both words so you can see what I mean.
I am really baffled, anyone know why it might do this, and what I can do to fix it?

DRYLINE has a space at the end of it in your drop-down list.
If you change your formula to:
=COUNTIF(B2:B15,"DRYLINE ")
It will work fine.
lol omg I have been staring at this for hours trying to figure it out, what a plonker lol. Thank you so much I dread to think how much longer I would have baffled myself over it!

No problems - we all miss the obvious some times. I once spent about an hour trying to work out why a COUNTIF of text answers wasn't working before I realised I was using SUMIF instead of COUNTIF
