I have tried searching but no luck for exactly what i want.


I have a table with names down the left (say column A) and Months across the top row 1.

I have a sheet with names in column D and dates from N10 -> ZZ10. The dates are in format 01-Jan etc, I have put the formula =Month(Cell) and formatted to mmmm to give the month name.

Now i am trying to create some sort of lookup/sum which will find all matching instances of the name on column D and then find corresponding month you have specified and will add up the totals in the Cell.

Attached is a kind of example of data layout and how i would like it to summarise? (Cells H5 to J5 should say February)
