A single line of code i cant work out...

Hi, i have a project to do for my IT class and since i havnt used excel much before i dont know how to do it. So, what im trying to do is have a list of the 12 months and for each month a Y or N for yes or no, on whether the person came to the meeting that month. I need to be able to count how many Ys there are in the 12 month period and display "Poor" (1 - 3 Ys), "Average" (4-6), "Very Good" (7 - 10) and "Excellent (11 - 12). I am guessing i will have t use nested IF statements and as a test i was thinking of using - =IF(W5:AH5 = "Y", "test good", "Test bad") - but it just says #VALUE! in the box.

    Thanks for the help.

Attach a sample workbook showing you original layout and the desired results.
I am assuming you just need a countif formula.

I worked it out, if anyone is interested on how i did it i used =COUNTIF(V5:AG5, "Y") to count the number of Ys then =IF(AI5>10,"Excellent",IF(AI5>6,"Very Good",IF(AI5>3,"Average","poor"))) to display the rating.

If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.

To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.

How to mark a thread Solved
