Hi, after much searching I have now got it working (via a workaround). Also, this was just not an Excel problem - it happened from Word or any other program with a File>Send To>Mail Recipient option.
1. I still have all my checking code in Application_ItemSend event and also have another procedure that simply has the following code
2. I have then modified the users new email form to remove the normal Send buttons (on File Menu as well) and replaced with a button for my ActiveInspector macro
This then correctly performs all the checks regardless of which program called the email form up.
