Remove space after numbers

I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out a way to remove the trailing space in this cell. No matter what I do the space stays in the cell and it doesn't allow me to convert the text number into numbers. Any help with a Script that would help me do this would be greatly appreciated.

I attached the worksheet to this thread.

The column in question is E and it is labeled amount. You will notice that the cells contain what is suppose to be dollar values. But there is a trailing space in every cell.

Select cell E2, and go to the formula bar, and copy that "space".

Then do a CTRL+H to replace... paste what you copied into the Find What box, and just hit Ok....

If you put this in a spare cell, say I2

This will return 160, which is a non-printing character commonly found when copying from the web, a "space" is CHAR(32).

So in a spare column try this
