returnning focus to the original excel application

    hi,

I have a macro that opens a workbook in a separate excel application so I can open it without macros
I set the new application as visible so in case something goes wrong the user can close it manually
however I'd like the focus to stay in the original workbook

is there a way to do that? I've been searching and trying but so far no luck

    regards

    Bernat

Not really sure why you need a new application, but you might try

    wow! worked like a charm.

when I need to open other workbooks for reference with custom toolbars etc it is a pain to use the debugger and is a bit more unstable, opening in a separate application without enabling macros there works better for me.
