Sorry for the odd title, the only way I can explain this effectively is to give an example. Also, sorry if this is a repost, I searched but found nothing on point.
I am using Excel 2003. I have over 2500 pdfs that add up to 10,000+ pages. Each pdf contains a random number of individual pages. The id number for each pdf reflects how many pages is in the previous pdf.
For example, the first pdf has the id number 00001. The first pdf has 4 pages, so the second pdf has the id number 00005.
Thus, I started with this:
Column A
00001 = first pdf (4 pgs)
00005 = second pdf (1 pg)
00006 = third pdf (3 pgs)
00009 = fourth pdf (etc...)
I have a second column that is perfectly sequential and identifies each individual page of the several pdfs. Therefore, Column A has 2500+ unique id numbers and Column B has 10,000+ unique id numbers.
MY PROBLEM: I want column A and B's rows to be in sync such that A shows the pdf id no that corresponds to the page reflected in Column B.
Thus, my goal is to get (based on the previous example):
(pdf no.) (overall page no.)
Column A Column B
00001 00001
00001 00002
00001 00003
00001 00004
00005 00005
00006 00006
00006 00007
00006 00008
00009 00009
It is obviously extremely burdensome to count the number of pages in each pdf and then create the appropriate number of rows for each id no. I have been doing it this way and have only done a few hundred pages in several hours. An answer would be a life saver and would make me look like a wizard here at the office!
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
