I am relatively new to Office 2010 but have used 2003 for years. I have a workbook which has all the sensitive data for a local Association of which I am Chairman. And I wrote (with the help of some of the forum members) some macros to update this workbooks several years ago and it has been working fine.

The problem I have is that whenever I try and Insert or Delete a row Excel goes to "Not responding" after maybe ten minutes it finally inserts the row but more often than not I have to close down and start again.

Looking on the web this seems to be quite a common problem and I wondered if it was Macro related.

I can't post the workbook because I can't delete the senstive information but in broad terms it is set out like this -

There is an Input Sheet which has button macros where new members details are added.

There is a Main Membership Sheet which has all the details of all members and their subs etc. (This has a macro attached to the sheet which formats the input to ensure it is always the same).

Members can be in one of five locations so there is a seperate sheet which vlookups the main Sheet for each location.

There are five subs checking sheets which are created by macros.

The sheets are not protected and I was wondering if I have inadvertantly switched something on which causes this behavior?
