Data transfer from worksheet to worksheet

    Hi Everyone,

Newbie here looking for some serious help.

What I would like to do is have text from multiple columns copied from one worksheet to another worksheet when today's date is highlighted on a third sheet, i've attached a sample to show.

I would prefer a formula based solution if possible as I can understand these better than macros.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    sample1.xlsx

    Regards,

    Clayton

Re: Data transfer from worksheet to worksheet

    Hi Clayton,

    A couple of quick observations.

On the Call Dates tab I see 7/4/2012 highlighted so you want the information from either Area 1 or Area 2 pasted to the Today's calls tab?

Not real clear on how you want the information transferred as 7/4/2012 does not match with either Area 1 or the Area 2 tabs. Area 1 is 7/24/2012 and Area 2 is 7/12/2012.

I may be able to come up with something, but need a little more explanation about how all the sheets interact with each other.

Are you completely against code? Not saying the solution couldn't be a formula, but just keeping an option for me open.
    HTH
    Regards, Jeff

    Welcome to the forum, Clayton.

I've looked at your file but I can't understand what it is that you want. You have a list of consecutive dates starting with July 4, 2012 so when you say:
when today's date is highlighted on a third sheet
Won't that always be the case?

And, from your file you say: "from either "Area 1".....or "Area 2"......"
What determines from which Area the data is to taken?

Re: Data transfer from worksheet to worksheet

    Jeffery, Cutter,

Thanks for replying. Sorry for being unclear, lets see if this will clear it up.

If today's date is 05/07/2012 I would like the information from Area 1 to be placed into Today's calls, if today's date is 06/07/2012 then I would like the information from Area 2 placed in Today's calls.

Not totally against code, just think Formula is easier to understand and change if needed.

    Thanking you in advance.

    Regards,

    Clayton

    OK

How about this in cell C4 (dragged over - and I assume down)

    Formula: copy to clipboard

    Hi Cutter,

Thanks for that but it only works on today's date.

How do I get it to change where the information comes from as the date changes? So if today's calls are from Area 1 tomorrow's calls are from Area 2 and so on??

    Regards,

    Clayton

    That's what the formula does.

Today, Jul 9th, the result of the MOD(TODAY(),2) is 1 and tomorrow, Jul 10th, the result will be 0.

Re: Data transfer from worksheet to worksheet

    Hi Cutter,

Sorry I'm not explaining myself properly, I tried to show an example and clearly didn't explain it. I'll attach my original spreadsheet and see if it makes more sense.

    Call sheet.xlsx

Is what I would like to happen is have each coloured section to appear on today's call sheet as the date changes.

So today's date being the 10/07/2012, then the information from sheet "Bayswater" the 12 orange rows(2-13) will appear in today's call sheet.

When it clicks over to tomorrow 11/07/2012 then the following 12 rows on "Bayswater" will appear in today's call sheet.

I would like to select which sheet and rows the information comes from when each date occurs, so the 17/07/2012 might be "Croydon" rows 26 to 37.

I know I'm being a pain and should have explained properly from the start and I'm sorry for that, and I really appreciate the help and patience.

    Regards,

    Clayton
