Adding data to a dropdown box that is located on another sheet in another file.

I am trying to use data validation to place a list of job numbers into my estimate sheet. The job numbers are from a master job log not located in the same workbook as my estimate sheet. I can not move the sheet into my Workbook. Does anyone have an idea as to how to overcome this hurdle as data valadation will not let me look into other files?

Perhaps it is best to post a dummy workbook so that we can see the issue more clearly.

Thats a problem. There are two workbooks involved. I am trying to do a simple data validation with lists. The information I need for my workbook is imported from another workbook. I think adding a workbook will add to the confusion. I'll certainly will do so, if you still think it will be helpful.

I would try to create dummy workbooks that mimic your real ones.

Other ppl from the forum would probably offer you the same advice.

Im not worried about the data being seen, I just didnt realize I could post two workbooks on here at the same time. Ill give it a go.

Im having trouble even finding where to attach a file. Ive done it before recently but I cant find it now. Any ideas.
