Formatting to make 2 digit number show up at 3 digit number.

I want to see up a list of job numbers to read 001 all the way 999 as opposed to 1 -999. Does anyone have an idea they would like to share. This seems so simple I feel like I cant see the forest through the trees!

You could apply a custom format to those cells of "000" to make all numbers be displayed with leading zeros (the underlying number is still the same).

If you really want the value 001 to be in the first cell, then you could use this formula in a helper column:

    =TEXT(A1,"000")

and copy down. Fix the values, then delete the original column.

    Hope this helps.
