Allow user to edit ranges on a protected shared workbook

I have this macro which i run with workbook open event

Please Login or Register to view this content.
what this code does is to lock all the sheets i.e., 01,02,03,04,05,06,...........30,31 except today's date named sheet. Only specified range get unlocked on todays sheet to edit.

But I need to use it with shared workbook and I am getting error

"Run-time error '1004'; Method 'Protect' of object'_Workbook' failed."

Anyone have any idea how to do it?

you can't change protection on a shared workbook. nor can you put data in there and expect it to remain intact. this behavior is by design.

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to
