How to capture return value from data validation error message box

I'm using data validation with alert set to information. The error message box has the options of OK or CANCEL. How can I capture the return value if OK is clicked, so that I can then trigger a macro? Any pointers or ideas on a VBA solution will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
