make drop down list with vba in excel with out data validation for use in sharepoint

I am trying to use an excel file which currently has multiple drop down lists that use data validaion. Is there a way to make a drop down list without using data validaion with or without vba code? The sharepoint site won't allow the use of data validation and real-time sharing of the excel file.
