Here is what I am trying to accomplish. I need a macro that will go through 2 sheets in one work book and spit out the differences on a 3rd sheet. I have been playing around for the last day and haven't gotten anywhere. Hoping you can help.
The two sheets that are being compared are Data1 and Data2 and the differences would need to be posted in the sheet titled Differences.
To start we need to look at the cells in column D, E, G, and H in sheet Data1. These columns will correspond to the data in Data2.
In Data2 column A corresponds to column D and E in Data1. So for instance you can see in Data1 that row 1 has 8/24/2012 in column D and 1.26 in column E. This would match up with A7 in Data2.
In Data1 column H corresponds to column B and D in Data2. Every value in column B in Data2 is an X and every value in column D is a Z.
In Data1 column E corresponds to the 'Type' column, column C in Data2.
If all those match up the final step would be checking the values in Data1 column G versus either column B or D in Data2 depending on if they are an X or Z.
Finally I would like the differences to be listed on the Differences sheet.For instance row 5's values in Data2 would be a difference as there is nothing to match it with in Data1. I manually input what I would want the difference to look like in the Difference sheet.
