    Post Help: need to make packing slips from excel sheet

    Hi everyone!
    I'm a total Excel newbie and I was hoping you could help me!
    I have an excel sheet with some data containing customer's names, info... and their orders. Each column is one product, thus I do not have the totals for each order.
    However I don't need them. I just need something to automate filling a packing slip template. With no monetary total, just one packing slip per Customer number that contains their info, address and their products ordered.
    I'm attaching the lists with three rows as an example and the invoice template.

    Hi Lola

    You PM'd me regarding this Thread and I told you I would follow it.

    Your Packing Slip Template is a Word Document. Is it your intention to merge the Excel Data into Word to create the Packing Slip? If so you'll need to define the Merge Fields for us...some are apparent...many are not.

    If you want the Packing Slip to be an Excel Document then develop it in Excel. Again, you'll need to identify where the information comes from in Sheet1.

    The records for Quinn and giannini are different in Column O (a merged field)...that throws the remainder of these records off by two columns. Can't work with that...get rid of the Merged Field and conform the rest of the columns and post a new file.

    I'll follow the Thread but you're in good hands with xladept.

    Hi John!
    Ok. I just fixed the excel document. I saw where the merged problem was! I apologize.
    However I have a question: I made the same packing slip template in Excel. I don't need all of the columns in order to fill the fields in the packing slip. So how should I proceed? Should I delete those columns?
    or just insert in those fields the example of the first order?
    I apologize in advance if my questions are very basic... I'm just recently becoming familiar with Excel!

    Upload the Packing Slip Excel File. Upload a new Invoices File with the changes.

    FYI...the Table in Sheet 1 will need to be resized.

    Hi Lola,

    Yes - its constructed to be run from a macro-enabled book - but you need the Invoices and the Packing Slip Fixed to be "up".

    Yes! I managed to make it run and it worked perfectly THANK YOU SO MUCH,
    For the record, I did have to change a couple things, but they were my fault:
    1. I had to change the ActiveSheet.Name = "PS " & N Because some of my customer's names were longer than what Excel allows for naming a sheet (I guess)
    2. I had to check for some customers that had placed 2 different orders with the same name, because Excel does not allow sheets with the same name
    Besides that... It runs like a charm.
