Counting and Summarizing Data - Can't get pivot to work, maybe Macro?

    Hi All,

I posted this in the Pivot section of the website but no answers...maybe this can be done by a Macro? Right now I'm utilizing count and if functions on this massive data set but it takes forever to calculate/recalculate. This usually crashes out. I can't seem to get a pivot to work, so maybe a macro can do the trick? I've attached an abbreviated example of what I'm trying to accomplish. I have all these questions with Yes, No, X (not applicable), and blanks. I'm trying to count these by business, by question and by quarter (time frame). In the attachment you'll see a data part that represents what I'm working with and an output part, what I'm trying to accomplish.

I've tried transposing data...can't seem to get anything to click in my brain.

    I'd appreciate any help!

    Thanks!
