Difference between Excel VBA for PC and Mac

I use excel all day long on a PC at work but I only have a macbook for home use. I was thinking about getting excel for my mac to practice VBA programming but I read that the language is different. Is it different to the point that I might as well not bother?

I've played around with VBA on the Mac, trying to convert and run projects developed on the PC. Now, I'm an old man and have no interest in learning a new language. However, if I were, I'd pursue it. I learned early on in my experiments that I didn't want to pursue it. So, for less than $50.00 I bought VMWare Fusion. It allows me to run Office for the PC on the Mac...no fuss, no muss.

If you intend to develop at home (on the Mac) projects to be used for work (on the PC), I'd suggest you go this route.

I reckon vba in excel 2011 is about 80-85% compatible with pc

Thanks for the responses. I think I'll go with the VM Ware Fusion. The money is definitely worth the time and hassle spent learning 2 excel languages.

How to mark a thread Solved
Go to the first post
Click edit
Click Go Advanced
Just below the word Title you will see a dropdown with the word No prefix.
Change to Solved
Click Save
