Conditional Formatting - Coloring Cells in Rows according Text in it

    Hi

I want to know, is there a way to coloring cells in rows basing on text in a column

Please Login or Register to view this content.
    In Column A
    1. Excel was repeated thrice
    2. Access was repeated twice &
    3. PowerPoint came only once

Now I want to color All Rows containing
    1. Excel with a color suppose (Green) (A1:C3)
    2. Access with a color (Red) (A4:C5)
    3. PowerPoint with a color (Blue) (A6:C6)
    (different Colors to differentiate)

If I add some other text later (Either single instance or multiple), like
    Welcome to David to Department
    Welcome to David to Department
    Welcome to David to Department
    Welcome to David to Department
These four rows should also get some color as it is different from earlier text

I'm enclosing sample file here Sample File.xls

Any suggestions will be great help

    Thanks in advance

Hi Novice to excel, You can use conditional formatting in column A to differentiate excel, access and powerpoint.
-Select Column A and enter this formula in conditional formatting. =A1="Excel" . And give your formatting style
-Select Column A again and add another rule = A1="Access" and a different formatting style
-Similarly add another rule for Power point

The same logic you can use in other columns also.

Hi Sindhus, thanks for the reply

You are right! But I have a concern here, I can not specify each rule for each word, If that was case the I would prefer to color it manually than going for individual conditions

The above mentioned is just an example.

In reality I'm not sure what Word or Text will come in that column,
Only one thing is constant, these Words or Text will be repetitive in nature (usually more than one occurrence)

As I will be having columns till AN, I want to differentiate them by applying colors.
I wish there will be a way to do this Dynamically!!!
