    Personal Macros Disappeared!!!

    hello...

I deleted 2 personal Macros that i don't need, i saved the file then closed it.
now i opened the file and i want to run the other personal Macros that i didn't delete but i can't find them, i can't even find the the option "Personal" when clicking on "Macros" button. moreover, i tried to creat a new personal macro but this message appeared "Personal Macro workbook in the startup folder must stay open for recording".

    What i did is:

    1- file tab --> options --> add-ins --> manage : disabled items --> go --> select personal.xlsb --> enable --> ok

2- developer tab --> Macro Security --> enable all maros

    unfortuantely, this didn't work

    your help is really appreciated

    thanks...

I had the same problem a while back. Type the following in the start search button and this will take you to XLSTART folder, then open it.

    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART.
Please note that "username "is the name of your documents name, usually your choosen name-find it in documents and settings.

Is the file in xlsb format or xlsm?
    It should be xlsb

    Re: Personal Macros Disappeared!!!

In my case, I was unbale to see the XLSTART folder even if by going to the folder itself and tried to open it. I did not see any files, it was empty. I had the same error message as you had. When I typed the above and searched, it took me to the XLSTART folder, I Then double licked it and went back to excel and see my modules and can record a macro

    Re: Personal Macros Disappeared!!!

Hi guys, if the Personal.xslb file is gone for good, and when you enter the Macros menu in Excel, no personal workbook option is available anymore, please do the following:
Options-> Add-ins-> Manage (find it on the bottom of the page)-> Select "Disabled items" and press "Go".
If your Personal Macro wordbook is here, enable it, and check into your excel if all your recorded/written macros have re-appeared.
    Cheers!
