Lightbulb Toggle Conditional Format With CheckBox

Ok, this is what I am trying to do.

Make a checkbox that changes the color of multible cells to yellow when the box is checked. I tried making the check box and then right clicking it and highlighting all the cells and then adding a conditional format to make it turn yellow. But when I added boxes 2 through 30 it messed everything up. When I click the checkbox all of the cells turn yellow instead of just the #1 cell.
So when you look at the form I attached, you can see that I have everything numbered from 1 to 30 and I will be adding 30 pages of this same page to make out a month of days. I just need to be able to click a checkbox to highlight each numbered box yellow to show that we no longer have this item.
I am not good with macros but I have a few on this form already, but they are very basic. I am willing to use a macro if that would be better or easier.

Thanks for any and all help.

Oh and I am using excel 2007, I saved it as 97-03 format just in case somebody didnt have 07.
