Use VBA to copy Data Validation reference cell font color to destination cell?

Guys, I am trying to find a solution for the following:

Use VBA to automatically change the font and background colour of a cell in Sheet1 which is using data validation to to automatically reflect the changes made to the reference cell in Sheet2.

The reference cell in Sheet2 is using conditional formatting to change color.

I found this on the site but cannot get it going - any help would be appreciated.

Why not use conditional formatting on the reference cell in Sheet1 as well?
