Question Difficulty Creating Data Connection between numerous Workbooks

Thanks for taking the time to review my request; it's my first time posting in a forum so I hope that I provide all relevant data.

My organization has recently begun to focus on reporting for some of the various clients. One of our divisions works with line production, so there are a number of details that must be tracked, i.e. PO#, Job #, Item Descriptions, Quantity Produced, Rates, etc. We have approx. 16 different accounts which each have their own excel workbook with a basic table that includes some limited automation and ultimately forms pivot tables. The reason there are separate workbooks is so that we limit delays in updating of reports; when we used to all be in one workbook there were delays in getting reports done as we waited on other teams of people. What we would like to do is to create a Master sheet that updates with each weekly entries for all of the accounts. We will develop various pivot tables from the collective information to provide upper managment basically with a top sheet for week by week.

I have attempted to import data from other sources, via Excel 2010 and MS Query, but am unable to get the Source Data file to include information from more than one workbook. The box to select workbooks is grayed out. Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated as I've been trying to get this done for 2 days now and haven't made much headway. I will tell you that I have created 3 "test" files and have created each one individually as a source data file. I'm brand new to this linking of workbooks so please bare with me as I get caught up on the curve.
