    Macros not saving

I have created a few recorded macros, and saved them to the personal workbook. When I close Excel and reopen it, the macros and the personal workbook are gone (as is the option to unhide). I've checked the folder, but there is nothing saved there. I've tried recording a macro, then checking the folder, but no files appear.

This is the path for the XLSTART folder. There was no excel folder in Local.

    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART

    Hi Emily

The folder path you are showing I think is for worksheets that you want to open automatically when you start excel. Check you excel options for the normal path for saving files. Also when you do it again try pinning the worksheet and see what happens to it.

The normal path for saving is not local, it is the shared drive. Does that make a difference?

    Re: Macros not saving

    Hi

Excel will save files to the default location which could be a shared drive but then in excel options that should also be the path, have you had a look at your recent list of files opened to see if any of your files are listed. You could also close a file without saving and see if auto recover can detect and load it.

PS Thank you for the click on my star.
