I have tried the code below to import data from access to excel 2007. I get an error in the line. I want the data to be copied to Sheet1. Please help.

Why not just use the "Get External Data" wizard in the Data RMenu ribbon?
Just select the "From Access" icon and Bob's your Aunty.....

Try removing the extra Sheets("Sheet1").Range ("a1") highlighted in red.
