Convert Excel in English to French version

    Hi,

I created a template for work in English, it has VBA and formulas in it. Basically when a user enter information, the template will calucate projected premium for him. But now my company needs a French version for this. I'm not bilingual so I'm looking for help to see if there is a least painfull way to convert it?

    Many thanks in advance,
    Ann

You want to convert the template to French? How about select all cells, go to Review tab, and click translate on proofing section..

    Is that what you want?

    Hi,

I tried the review tab but it doesn't look like it can handle such large translation. What I'm thinking to do is to have someone speaks French translating the wording on the template for me since my template is like a form that asking for a customer's name, address, ect to generate a premium for him. I'm just wondering if it will cause problems if the underlying formulas are in English. I know that if the template is in Excel and it has been programmed in an English environment, when it is translated, oftentimes glitches can appear because of the differences in the way numbers are entered or displayed, or the formatting of dollar signs, among other differences. For example, normally in English, a number with decimals will be written as 97.8. In French, it is normally written as 97,8 (comma instead of a period). A longer number will be written in English as 4,567.89 In French, the same number is written as 4567,89. Or the dollar sign ($) which in English is placed at the beginning of a number but in French usage it is placed at the end. Is there anyway to fix this?
    Thanks!

Hmm.. I think if you change the regional setting in your computer control panel, the number format follows the changes automatically.. But, if you wrote in the VBA code, you have to find the codes and replace them one by one..
