    need a formula based on condition

    hi all
    i have
    2 cells , cell a1 and a2

    cell a1 can contain alphabets , numbers and all special characters

    i want a formula if cell a1 contains any value or text than cell a2 will return "yes" else "no"

    hi kshitij_dch. so basically if A1 is not blank, then "yes"?
    =IF(A1<>"","yes","no")

    yes but i want yes or no should come in cell a2

    In cell A2, enter
    =IF(LEN(A1),"yes","no")
