Report looks fine. I am tyring to get the excel file down to system tray when the macro is running. I have managed to get this minimized to taskbar when the macro is running but cannot get it down to system tray. Is it possible? Can anyone help me, please?

Thanks for your reply. I checked the url that you have shared and it looks great. However, it does minimize the userform to system tray, i believe. But i am looking for a code that will send an excel file down to system tray when i try to run a macro (macro is within that excel file) .

Can this code be modified to my need?

    Please help.

    Thanks

An Excel "file" runs within Excel so I'm not entirely sure what you mean or what you want to achieve. If you run the file in its own instance of Excel, wouldn't minimising Excel to the System Tray be the same thing?

    Hi TMShucks,
I agree that an excel instance, if minimized to system tray, will minimize all its files. But as i said, i am a stranger to vb scripting. I have a file named "abc.xlsm". i have added a code to this file so that whenever i double click this file, it automatically runs a macro within the file (minimized to task bar). Once it is done, a message pops ups and upon clicking "ok" entire excel application terminates ( i want it this way). It takes ~ a minute to complete this process. If i click the excel in the taskbar, then i am unable to do any other task until this macro completes.

So now, instead of minimizing it to task bar, i want it to go to sytem tray, so that i can do other tasks. Once i double click the file, it has to go down to system tray and do all procss and once completed it should show me a completion message. Is it possible to do it this way?

Can you please help me with the code?

    Many Thanks

    BR

Sorry, no. I Googled the requirement and that solution came second on the list. I haven't looked closely at how it works but I doubt I could make it do what you want. The first one didn't have as much detail.

Google: minimise excel to system tray
