MS Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 (SP4) Won't Work Afer File Is Closed Then Re-opened

    Hello Everyone,

I apologize for the misspelling in the header. Piker should be Picker.
I'm new here as someone posting or answering questions, but have read many of the posts for ideas, help. etc. I have a problem that is driving me nuts!

I have been trying to use MS Date and Time Picker Control 6.0 and have been having only limited success.

I do not have a problem inserting the control into a spreadsheet, getting it to function or linking it to a specific cell within the worksheet. My problem occurs when I save the file then re-open the file. When I re-open the file the Date and Time Picker control font will will have doubled in size and the control is visible but non-functional.

I can only restore the function of the control if I go into Design Mode, select the control and move it to a new location. The new location can be as close as 1 cell away. The control will then function well until I save and exit and re-open the file. Then it is back to Design Mode to get it functioning again.

Here is what I am using:

    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Microsoft Office Professional 2010
    Version 14.0.6129.5000 (32-bit)

I have spent 2 days looking around different web sites for help on this and found nothing other than this control is buggy. I even registered MSCOMCT2.OCX from the command prompt as administrator with no change in the controls function.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    H20s50 or Butch

No ideas yet... I have attached the spreadsheet to illustrate my problem. I use this spreadsheet to track my mileage and destinations. Everything works good except for the Date and Time Picker. I can live without it if need be. I just think it would be a nice addition. And besides, I hate when things don't work!

Avoid to use ActiveX, replace with built-in UserForm like you can find in some forums …

give the attached a trial if you are still stuck
double click cells in column 'A'
to set time click on hrs or mins whichever is highlighted is changed by 'spinner'
date should show whatever you format column.
to not show time simply leave at zero and format column for date (eg. dd/mm/yyyy)
