    Alarm on Date

    Hello,

I am very new to excel and even more new to this forum.
Seems like a great reference site!

I am requesting help in learning some programming, usually when I can see something I can take it apart and learn from it.

In an excel 2003 spreadsheet I have listed some Dr. appointment dates:
The Patients name exists in column "C"
The Dates all exist within column "P"
The Time of the appointment exists in column "Q"

I would love if when the medics open the program to start thier day a pop up appears with a sound highlighting each of the appointments of the day... Perhaps even the day before the appointment? and after they acknowledge the alert perhaps the color of the appt. date changes?

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thank You

So you just want to open the spreadsheet and have appointments for todays date become highlighted? Or tomorrows?

    Yes basically
That would be very helpful... A pop up that must be acknowledged and perhaps a tone would be nice. I could also then look at its progamming and learn a bit..

    Thank You

If you want to learn and play around with this code, this is something I use. Someone here on the forum helped me with this. Place this code in your project under Sheet1 or any sheet you are using. This will detect changes in a date older than 4 days. Place some dates in column G from atleast cell 1-10before using the code, otherwise it will turn the entire column green. Change the dates and you will see how the code works.

You are awesome! I will try this out and see how it works
I will come back and ask more questions after I get some time to play with this.
