I'm lazy. There has to be a faster way to pull data & cross reference a worksheet, right?

If you look at these two worksheets, you will see both have keywords in column A. Most of those keywords are the same. I need the data from "generic" (rows B-C) to be pulled into the other sheet.

Copy and paste would obviously work, but here's the pain point: Although some of the words in column A are the same as the words in the other sheet - not all of them match up. Sorting in ABC order won't make the keywords match.

Tell me I don't have to go through each and every single word to find it (column A) and copy and paste the new data (rows B-C) into another workbook/worksheet. Tell me...please...there HAS to be an easier way, right?

    First,
Are these two sheets are on the same workbook, or came from two different books? If they are on the same book, when you match columns A of both sheets, what do you mean by rows B-C? In other words, if match or partial match is found where and which rows and columns need to be copied and where to? Do you mean column B-C of which sheet?

I just combined the workbooks into one sheet, to make it easier.

Basically, the data in column B & C correspond to the words in column A.

The data in columns G-I correspond to the words in F.

Some of the words (most of them) in columns A and F are the same. I want to sort/combine/organize this so that the data matches the words.

    Example. See

    1. green, column F, line 434.
    2. yellow, column A, line 2.

The words are the same and I want to have all the columns next to the one word (B, C, G, H, I)

This seems like one of the word problems. Train A is leaving the station at 5:00pm. Train B is leaving at 5:01pm. Where is train A headed? LOL. Who knows??? LOL

Hi and welcome to the forum

Not sure if this will help, but let me know how you make out. In J2, copied down and across to K, try this...

    =IFERROR(INDEX($A$2:$D$440,MATCH($F2,$A$2:$A$440,0),COLUMN(B$1)),"")

It will (try to) match the contents of F with the contents of A, and then return the corresponding value from B and C
