Some cells will not high lite

    Some cells will not high lite

    On my spreadsheet there are many cells that will not high lite when I try to place a color in the cell/ What could cause this?

    do they have conditional formatting applied to them?

    other than that, my crystal ball is out on loan right now

    sorry, newbie here. LOL what does that mean? Is there a setting I need to look at or piece of code?

    if there is no sensitive data in the file, upload here and I will take a look for you
    To attach a file to your post,
    click advanced (next to quick post),
    scroll down until you see "manage file",
    click that and select "add files" (top right corner).
    click "select files" find your file, click "open" click "upload" click 'done" bottom right. click "submit reply"

    Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
    You can then close the window to return to the new post screen.

    You will notice that above the are already high lighted it begins to only allow you to highlight like a checkers board

    Yup, thought so.

    Columns C, D, F and G are formatted to have a white background with white text if ? is in a cell. In other words they will appear empty if the formula in them returns an answer of ?

    Once CF (conditional formatting) is applied, it takes precedence over any manual formatting when it is triggered

    Ah gotcha, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I thought something was wrong with it.
