VBA stops running when the destination cell is protected

Hi! I am trying to run some VBA code that automatically inserts the current date when a column is modified. There are two different columns, with two different destination cells for the dates, and they are independent of each other. It works beautifully until I try to lock and protect the destination cell for the second part of the code, then it gets buggy and won't work and I don't understand why. It doesn't help that I have no idea what I'm doing (I copied and pasted the code from a website and amended it to suit). I want to be able to lock both destination columns. The bolded bit on the code is the bit that is being rejected. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Nothing happens.
