Conditional Formatting - Highlight Cells Rules "text that contains"

    Hello,

After a few hours of attempts, I've been unable to crack this. I've applied a macro to the current sheet that I'm working that will insert a column and throw in a formula for me (that part is working fine). Now, as a result of that formula, the column that the code inserted (Column J) will, based on the data in prior columns/the formula, be either be blank, "YES" or "NO".

I would now like to add in to the macro the ability to apply conditional formatting to highlight any of cell in Column J with the word "YES" in red (Color 255).

I recorded the application of the conditional formatting, and it works just fine on the test sheet I was using, however, when I tried applying it to the final product (which is a Shared workbook), it gave me a Run-time error '1004': "Application-defined or object-defined error".

I'm hoping you can assist me with what may be wrong with the code I'm running. Does the fact that he final product is shared make a difference?

According to this article, you cannot add or change conditional formats in a shared workbook.

Well crap. I guess that's my problem. Thank you for your response

Any VBA workaround? I guess I could auto filter and highlight the yes cells, but I'm wanting something that will remove the highlight as someone updates the sheet and the answers turn to blanks.

Couldn't read that article last night. I'm glad I was able to this morning. Thank you for the link, AlphaFrog. All I had to do was apply the conditional formatting before I had the code save the workbook as a shared book.

    Thanks again.
