a macro to find text based on user input

Hi everybody,
I have a list of quests with invitations numbers. I need to have a macro to find text based on user input which:
a) will find a number of invitation and highlight it (or entire row with name of guest);
b) highglight on diffirent color or give a pop-up information when the number of the invitation will repeat (somebody will try to use the same number of invitation, barcode, to be more precise)

I found the solutions to a) but stucked with b)
Any help?
