Question how to check if lotus notes is open

    Morning,

I have set-up some code that automatically sends an e-mail through Lotus notes according to information on a userform.
It works great, but if Lotus notes is not open then it all goes to hell.
For the life of me I cannot think of a way to get VBA to check whether Lotus notes is already open, and if not to Exit the Sub (or Goto the bottom of the code to do more stuff. I'm sure this is simple, but my excel coding (though getting better) is still mainly finding and bastardising found code for the more complex things.
I have pasted the e-mail sending code below:

Red face Re: how to check if lotus notes is open

I have now found a bit of code that vaguelly works

I only have it throwing up a message box at the moment. The issue is it worked half a dozen times then killed Lotus Notes (a messgae " An error was encountered whilst opening a window" appeared then Lotus notes forced closed. It took the IT department doing a server reset to fix this issue (embarrassed face). It's a long shot but can anyone shed any light on this. As it seems like a nice simple way to find out if the application is open, and as I said earlier it does work.

I can't see how that code caused the problem-I reckon your IT department screwed up and blamed you ;-)

    perhaps

Thumbs up Re: how to check if lotus notes is open

Thanks, I couldn't get your code to work. But after you said that there shouldn't be anything wrong with mine. I decided I agreed with you that it was IT's fault and have re-instated it. So far it works lovely!.
    Much appreciated
