Sales Report: Percentual contribution of each client's vertical to overall sales

    Hello all,

First of all, I would like to apologise if this has been raised before. I didn't find it from a quick browse.

So, I want to produce a report which shows the percentual contribution of each vertical (or group of products) sold per client, against the total sales figure which derives from all clients.

Basically what I am trying to do is, in the attached, to get from the month tab, to the individual tab, to the proposed report with the minimum manual effort.

The biggest obstacle that I am facing right now is how to make the system translate my 'other client, product 4', etc. entries to elements that need to be grouped in verticals per client. Unfortunately the entries' description is not as easy and straightforward as the example shows (i.e. the vertical or client might well not appear in the entry description).

Please note that the numbers in the example don't necessarily add up.

I would really appreciate some help on this. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum

How do you get from a list of "Other Client, Product 1,2,3" etc to "Client 1"?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
    2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Re: Sales Report: Percentual contribution of each client's vertical to overall sales

Hello FDibbins and thank you very much!

There are 5 clients that matter to me the most. All the rest (i.e. 'Other Client' are grouped under 'Others' in the proposed report.

I think that all the trouble here stems from the fact that I cannot find an effective way of naming the individual entries in the Jan 2013 tab in a way so that these are automatically grouped under the right client and vertical in the end report. What I mean is that the generation of the Proposed Report is actually not that difficult if I find a way to name all the original entries so that there is some kind of reference to a client or vertical.
