Macro to hide/unhide cells not running or running slow

Below is the code for a macro I have to display a designated amount of input cells. Originally I had just the first string of "If" statements and it ran fine but obviously wouldn't allow me to backtrack and reopen the cells I had closed.

I tried to speed the macro up a bit by adding application.screenupdating false/true and in the process of adding the calculation manual/automatic code the macro stopped running entirely.

What's the best way to rewrite this code?
