Howdy, all.
I'm not sure if I'm using the correct terminology, and it's hard for me to explain so I am attaching illustrations of what I am attempting to describe.
I don't want to "thread-jack" so I'm starting a fresh thread.
I found discussions that tell how to
- Fill empty cells with the same value up until the last empty cell
- Do the same as above but with rows of empty cells within a column (e.g. fill down a constant value until the last empty cell is reached; then fill down using that same value until the next value, etc.)
I need something similar to
http://www.excelforum.com/excel-form...th-series.html
For the thread referenced above, I was not able to get it to recognize that a new value is to be used as a starting point for the next series.
I have a list of serial numbers giving the first number, the last number, and the quantity of items produced:

I was able to automatically insert blank rows based on the quantity of items produced so that I have empty rows in between using a script, results as illustrated:
autorows.jpg
I was also able to fill down the constants using another script, results as illustrated:

What I would like to end up with is as illustrated:
results.jpg
After I have the constants (date) in an adjacent column I am able to manually autofill the serial numbers by selecting a value and double-clicking on the plus sign as I hold down Alt. I'd like to do that all in one shot for a particular column via a script without having to manually change the range of cells each time.
I did not post the other scripts because I did not write the scripts and I would like to (for now) keep these separate so as not to confuse things.
Hopefully I was able to explain this clearly enough.
Thanks in advance for your patience, and for any help you can give,
HowD
