Sort odd and even numbers of addresses

This is an extract from the tree watering program, where each street is given a sequence number, so we sequence the 2000 trees in a route for the truck.

The trees are typed in as the requests are received, so the house numbers are all over the place in column B.

The question is: can excel automatically put all the odd numbers, smallest to largest, and then all the even numbers, largest to smallest, so that the truck can drives down the street and then up the other side.

    Hope this can explain enough

    Thank you in advance

By the way I cannot get to upload sample work book even though it is less than 9KB so I have to create a link for it

And I suppose you want them grouped by street, as well? all odd grouped for street ABC (3 houses each side) 1,2,3, followed by all even for street ABC 4,5,6, then continue for the next street (4 houses each side) odd - 7,8,9,10, then even - 11, 12, 13, 14 etc?

Re: Sort odd and even numbers of addresses

Thank you for replying. Yes I like to have the street name in the same group but with their even numbers 2,4,6,8,..... then old numbers 21,19,17,15....... in order similar to this

    4 Mary Street Glenelg North...............
    6 Mary Street Glenelg North.................
    8 Mary Street Glenelg North................
    17 Mary Street Glenelg North...............
    15 Mary Street Glenelg North...............
    11 Mary Street Glenelg North.................
    18 Walkers Road Somerton Park...............
    38 Walkers Road Somerton Park..................
    56 Walkers Road Somerton Park.................
    69 Walkers Road Somerton Park................
    53 Walkers Road Somerton Park....................
    9 Walkers Road Somerton Park.....................

so that the truck driver can continuing driving along the street on both side without have to reverse sometimes because of the mix-up numbers.

    Hope this help to understand

    Thank you so much

OK just a thought here. Aren't the numbers normally opposite each other? Is your intention that the driver goes up 1 side, turns around and then comes back down the other side?

Re: Sort odd and even numbers of addresses

Yes that's right mate. In our council area, houses with even number start with smaller number (usually start number 2) when traveling along the street and planting trees as they go along. Then when the truck driver come to the end of the street (even numbers increased) he will turn the truck around and start the opposite side of the street (odd numbers started in the highest) and as the truck driver drive along the opposite side of the street the odd numbers decreasing.

    Cheers
