RegEx replace in range with lagre data set as sub/function?

I've got this question, that I really hope some of you could help me with.

I have a sheet "data", where I need to basically remove some text in the range C:C. Ideally I would like to just call a function like

It should look through every cell in the range, and just remove anything that matches the regex. The rest of the cell, and cells that do not get a match should be left intact.
This search and replace will need to be performed on a quite large data set, with 50 000 to 200 000 rows, so performance would be something to consider.

Even though I have a relish for regex, any solution that gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time will be good.

Your help will be really appreciated.
I've attached a sheet with some example data

    Best regards,
    Knut
