Unhappy Visual Basic Editor - Reset Window Positions?

I accidentally moved the Locals window in my VBA Editor and now I can't get it to dock back again.

I have already tried renaming the registry key then close & reopen Excel to reset the settings (the key I renamed was HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VBA\7.0\Common\) but while some of the VBA settings reset, the window positions did not.

    Does anyone have a solution?

Double-click on the Locals window title bar.

Grab the Locals window title bar and drag it to the vertical split bar or any side of the editor until you see its window outline change size.
    Surround your VBA code with CODE tags e.g.;
your VBA code here
The # button in the forum editor will apply CODE tags around your selected text.

Thanks - That helps. I tried it and it is now docked above the Immediate Window. I'm want to get it to be docked alongside the Immediate but I can't get it to do so.

I can title-bar-drag one window (Locals window) to the bottom left side of the vertical split bar below the Project Explorer window and the other (Immediate window) to the bottom right side of the vertical split bar.

My fault - I didn't explain myself clearly.

I want to have the Immediate Window and the Locals Window alongside one another as a horizontal split bar (i.e. below where Module windows display).

did you have all office apps closed when deleting the reg key? that oughta do it-though you only need to delete the 'dock' entry

if at first you don't succeed try doing it the way your wife told you to

I only had Excel open - no other programs.

I tried renaming the reg key (in OP) and closing/reopening Excel. This time it worked! (I don't know why it didn't work when I tried renaming it the first time)

if you want to edit the registry entries a program uses it is sensible to have that program closed at the time ;-)

[Lightbulb] So after renaming the reg key while Excel was open, the application was rewriting it's current settings to the registry when closing. I've got it now - thanks.

I hate when that happens. I know this thread is kinda long in the tooth, but maybe it might help somebody, so here goes.

What I do when one of my windows gets pushed out of my perfered docking view: is simply grab the title bar of that window & drop it on the Scrollbar of the window it was docked next to before hand or whatever other window I want it near. Maybe the 1st drop it might push the other window. No need to fear grab that one & drop it on the prior & voila resize however & your off to the races again.

Maybe Im missing something too cause I dont know why your playing it the Reg, I gather the values must be hardcoded or something; Anyway. HTH
