Competition Template...No Spaces in Validation List needed.... manual calculation issues.

The spaces are obviously caused by the list referring to a whole block of cells which includes the blank lines.

To my knowledge there isn't a way of getting around this particular problem using a direct data validation range in this way (and I have tried many weird dynamic range names to overcome this). The only real solution would be to create a separate data validation area in your worksheet that linked specifically to the competitor cells in each round (and so create lists without any spaces in them). You can then point the data validation at these new areas.

Well Guys....I've done it!!! The attached works with no spaces on the validation throughout the spreadsheet and can easily be adapted....please use if you so require, and thanks for all your help.
