User form pop-up box

I am not familiar with using user forms and capturing the data input by the user, and I'm trying to accomplish something fairly simple I believe.

I have a button labeled "Add Line" on my spreadsheet and want a dialog box to pop up upon clicking the button. The dialog box should simply state "Please enter the Line number you wish to add: " with an input box for the user to type. I then want to save this entered number as a variable to run the rest of my macro. Could somebody provide a brief example as to how this would be accomplished?

Why not use a textbox on the userform instead of an input box?
