is it possible to automatically enter date and time in a cell when it is selected

Hi new member, great resource you provide.

Im currently creating a single worksheet that requires multiple entries of date and times (static).

As the user will normally enter the current date and time, however sometime the entry will be back dated, is it possible when the cell is selected the current date and time is entered automatically?

I do have a cell with NOW() function on the spreadsheet already which assists with many of the calculations required. Can i refference that cell to auto fill the selected cell with the current date and time.

Because of the mutiple user access the spreadsheet I don't think using the CTRL+; then SPACE then CTRL+SHIFT+; option will not be an easy answer.
