Data Input Form with number of line items based on user input

    Excel Forum

First, thank you for taking a moment to read this. I haven't attempted this so I don't have code or screen shots, rather I have a scenario that if you can think of a way to do it, please replay.

    Scenario:

I work for an industrial company that services instruments when a factory goes offline for maintenance and I am currently revising the administrative workflow for this process. We record all our meeting notes, contacts, etc. into one document however we do not have a streamlined way of recording each instrument (referenced by a tag number). What I want to be able to do is within the primary excel document dashboard have an input box which my managers can put the number of instruments we will be servicing during this process and then be able to click a command button which will then generate a templatized excel workbook with a dashboard tab and then a tab for each instrument. For example, if in the course of our planning meetings we find out that our technicians will be working on 100 transmitters, I want to be able to put that number into an input box, click a button and a new workbook is created with 101 tabs (1 dashboard tab and 100 instrument tabs).

I would appriciate any help, I am familar with Macros and VBA so don't hesitate to flash some code. Thanks again.
