    Auto populating a specific worksheet in separate workbook

    Hello!
    I am a novice excel user and I am in great need of some help. Here is what I am trying to do....

    I wish to auto populate worksheets in workbook "Ewe Card" based on data located in workbook "Lambing Record" functioning as a master sheet for record keeping on a sheep farm. If I enter a tag #0000 on the master sheet I would like data from certain columns in the same row to be auto populated into the workbook "Ewe Card" on worksheet #0000.

    Is this even possible?

    Yes of course. In your Lambing Record workbook, fill your cells with this formula:

    Change WorkbookName, Sheet Name, and Cell Address to suit. Alternatively, you can open both your master and lambing record workbooks, click on the cell in Lambing Record you want to link, write an equal sign, = and then click on the cell in the master sheet to which you are linking.

    Thanks djdjdj but unfortunately that still isn't quite what I'm looking for. Maybe I should explain it better....

    I want information that is entered on woorkbook 1, sheet 1 to appear in workbook 2 given certain criteria. If in column B cells on workbook 1 I enter a number, I want the appropriate corresponding sheet in workbook 2 to be auto populated with certain information from workbook 1, sheet 1.

    Example: Workbook 1, sheet 1 is labeled as "Lambing Record". This is a sheet in which information is updated daily. In Lambing Record I enter A2=Date, B2 Ewe #, C2 Lamb #, D2 = Birth Type, E2 = Gender, F2 = Death Date, G2 = Wean Date, H2 = Remarks.

    I would like workbook 2 to auto populate a sheet created for each individual Ewe ID# with information into selected cells from columns A, B, C, D, E, and H in Lambing Record (workbook 1).

    Basically I want to enter information on workbook 1 and have it transfer into an individual card without having to touch the Ewe Card. This is for an operation where there will be 2000+ entries made on the lambing record and of course a ewe card for each. It is far beyond my ability to create this but we need a more accurate and easy to operate system once it's set up.

    Hi again,

    I'm not sure which cells in Ewe Card you want to autopopulate from Flock Records because you have different headers for your columns.

    Take a look at these two workbooks. I haven't done anything in Ewe Card, but I've added a macro to Flock Records which checks to see if a worksheet exists for the Ewe ID, creates a sheet, then populates the cells. But as I said I'm not sure which cells are supposed to be filled in with what info.
