controlling whether a list of intervals overlaps with a second list of intervals

Hello

I'm fairly new to this forum, but I hope you guys can help me with the following:
I have a list of intervals listed in two separate columns (E and F) these intervals where found in literature...
I also have a list of intervals again in separate columns (A and B) which I would like to check against the intervals in E and F to see if there is an overlap in any possible way... (and return a '1' if the logical answer is true and add it to 'overlap')
this is why I wrote this little macro/program only it returns me only a '0' in cell J2...
I have some experience with java but non with excel programming... could you guys help me with the excel programming language/ point me out the mistakes to why its not working?

thanx in advance

grtz

Nicolas

Your post does not comply with Rule 3 of our Forum RULES. Use code tags around code.

Posting code between
Please Login or Register to view this content.
tags makes your code much easier to read and copy for testing, it also maintains VBA formatting.

Highlight your code and click the # icon at the top of your post window. More information about these and other tags can be found here

(I have added them for you, but in the future, please read our rules and abide by them.)

Ok and thank you,
I am new here and wasn't aware of these rules until now. I will do my best to follow them in the future!

the debug link helped me with one stupid mistake in my code but its still not giving me an entire correct answer...
it returns me several '0' where there should be a '1' or higher...
