Cyrillic support for TreeView & ListView

We have an Excel based tool with forms using the Comctl controls ListView and TreeView.

(by the way, we use late binding on the tv and lv due to the known Comctl lib issue, solved thanks to this forum! But that should not impact this language issue)

The customer now wants us to translate the tool to Russian-Cyrillic.

Everything went fine in the Excel sheets and with most of the 'regular' controls on the forms (labels, textboxes, ...)

But the TreeView and ListView fails to show the Cyrillic information correctly.: characters appear as questionmarks : '????? ?? ?????'.

We tried to change the tv.Font, tv.Font.Charset, .... But no luck

Has anybody been able to use Treeview or listview where data in non latin charsets is used?

Look at an example. Names are displayed in the Treeview in Russian.

I see good news and bad news

- bad: I have the same thing as Andy and as in our tool: the treeview is not dispaying correctly on my pc, but the other controls do.

- good: I am very happy to see that on your pc (nilem) it does work correctly. I assume you have a 'Russian' pc. Probably, the users of a 'Russian' pc will see it correctly .. and since they are the ones that need the Russian info mostly, this is already very good news.

But it would even be better if ALL users could see the Cyrillic info in the treeView (and ListView)

Any idea it there is a workaround for the local settings differences on all pc's?
