Q-2 Macro code for date and time in protected excel file when if condition applicable

HI,

Any one can help me to find out how can create macro code for automatically updating current time when if condition is applicable? I have explained every thing in the attached excel file!! Please create macro in those excel file..also i would like to know how to protect macro code?

Good news and bad news from me. I have answered your question above, but when I see your workbook, I cannot get it to work.

The good news is that I have done what you ask in that when a particular column's cell changes to "Completed" the time is entered in the next column. Job done.

The bad news is that if I try to do this on a protected sheet then, even if I unprotect the sheet, the whole system fails to work until I close down and re-open Excel (not just the workbook).

So the way forward is either to (a) find some genius who can get it to work on a protected worksheet or (b) use non-Excel protection (this involves promising to do unspecified, unspeakable things to anyone who makes any unauthorised changes to the worksheet). (And I do not want to hear whingeing from people about human rights etc. I have tried it and it works! )

Note that the workbook is now a macro enabled workbook and you may have to change your macro security settings. To see the code, right click on the sheet tab and select View Code.

(Am I correct in assuming that you are in Kochi, India rather than Kochi, Japan?)
